Deadlines and practical information regarding PURE publications in 2020
Friday, January 15, 2021 is the deadline for reporting publications published in 2020.
If you are a researcher or administrative employee who submits publications to Pure, this is relevant to you.
If you submit publications to Pure, check the following before January 15, 2021:
• Have all your publications been submitted?
• Have any of your publications changed publication status since submission?
• Is the categorization of your publications in terms of publication type ('research', 'communication', 'commissioned' and 'education') correct?
• Is the categorization of your publications in terms of peer-review (‘peer reviewed’, ‘not peer-reviewed’) correct?
• Is the Open Access status correct for relevant publications?
AU's key figures, BFI points, and results in the Open Access Indicator are based on validated publications in Pure. The deadline must be met. AU Pure cannot guarantee that publications submitted after the deadline will be validated and counted.
AU key figures
At the beginning of March, AU Pure calculates the university's research output. The report contains the number of validated publications with publication year 2020 and is included as part of the university's annual report.
The Open Access Indicator
At the beginning of March 2021, publications with publication year 2019 will be harvested for the Danish Open Access indicator. Therefore, make sure that the Open Access status of your 2019 publications is correct. Also, look at 2020 publications so you have everything up to date. Upload the accepted manuscript to Pure if you have the publisher's permission to parallel publish it. If you are unsure about how to deal with Open Access, you can contact your contact at AU Library. You can read more about Open Access here.
The Bibliometric Research Indicator (BFI)
In June 2021, publications with publication year 2020 will be harvested. BFI publications will be used to distribute part of the new basic research funding to the universities. Timely reporting of university publications is therefore essential. You can read more about BFI on the website of the Danish Agency for Research and Education.
