High school teacher day

The yearly “Gymnasielærerdag” (High school teacher day) in Biology was held the 25th of October. Approximately 60 high school teachers teaching biology and biotechnology came to Bioscience to hear talks by Bioscience researchers about different topics.

Palm work in Corrientes, Argentina

For ten day over the fall break BSc student at ECOINF Charlotte Brown Petersen joined PhD student at IBONE, Corrientes, Argentina, Carolina Silva for fieldwork to study the palm Butia yatay which abounds in northern Argentina.

Capybara grazing lawns in a South American savanna

Julia Mata conducted the last of her fieldwork for her PhD this month in The Iberá Wetlands, Argentina. She collected data on the effects of herbivory on vegetation in long term exclosure plots. She measured structural and diversity shifts through biomass, height and species composition.

Trophic rewilding for biodiversity in South African savanna: 2019 field campaign

As part of my research within the MegaPast2Future project, I conducted a field campaign in South African savanna between March and July 2019 to test ecological theories regarding mega-herbivore rewilding and its potential to promote biodiverse self-sustaining ecosystems.

On April 29th – 30th, BIOCHANGE hosted a center retreat for BIOCHANGE members at Skanderborghus Hotel in Skanderborg.
