Modelling workshop at Laboratoire Écologique Alpine (LECA)

22.10.2019 | Dennis Pedersen

From 22 to 25 October, PostDoc Nathalie Chardon, PhD student Jonathan von Oppen, and Professor Signe Normand attended a modelling workshop at Laboratoire Écologique Alpine (LECA), University of Grenoble-Alpes, and IRSTEA Grenoble, France. The goal of the workshop was to discuss the integrated biodiversity & ecosystem model FATE-HD (Boulangeat et al. 2014 GCB) and how to develop the framework further, especially with regard to potential application in arctic tundra ecosystems. Nathalie, Signe and Jonathan also presented their research and received valuable feedback. Besides, Maya Guéguen gave a practical session on the FATE-HD application. The last day of the workshop was dedicated to a visit at the LECA field site at Col du Lautaret, where Urs Treier demonstrated the use of a handheld camera system, e.g. for high-resolution plot-scale NDVI measurements. Many thanks to Isabelle Boulangeat and Wilfried Thuiller for the organisation!
