I am trained as a human geographer with a particular interest in development studies and collaborative learning. My research focuses on strengthening engagement with and learning for nature in urban settings.
My work is grounded in close collaboration with the cities of Tshwane (South Africa) and Aarhus (Denmark), where I apply arts-based and participatory approaches to support biodiverse and resilient urban landscapes. I have experience in stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and collaborative process design through my PhD research, as well as from earlier roles in European research and policy contexts.
I am particularly motivated by interactive, practice-oriented teaching. I value learning environments where students actively apply concepts, reflect on their experiences, and learn from one another. In my teaching and co-supervisory roles, I see myself as a facilitator who guides students’ learning processes while also learning alongside them.
