I have a great interest and experience in assessing the welfare of production animals, and how to develop production systems adapted to both animals, people and the environment, and with a special focus on outdoor systems. Some of the questions I work with are, biosecurity and supplementary feeding at year-round grazing with cattle, water as a cooling option, and how different technological can contribute to a better supervision and welfare assessment of animals in areas that are difficult to inspect. I also have a great interest in sheep farming, their welfare and how they can contribute to future animal husbandry, as well as having extensive experience with the welfare assessment system WelFur-Mink and research on mink welfare.
