I specialize in combining asteroseismic, spectroscopic, eclipsing binary and star cluster observations in stellar evolution studies to obtain high precision determinations of basic stellar properties including the age.
I am the daily leader and developer of the initiative "Det Fjernstyrede UndervisningsTeleskop" (which translates to The Remote Controlled Teaching Telescope" ; FUT ; #FUTeleskop ; fut.phys.au.dk), which is a telescope in Australia that is remotely controlled from Denmark. It is used for teaching at university level, in upper-secondary education and in primary schools.
In the project "Det Fjernstyrede UndervisningsTeleskop" I collaborate with the publishers Systime and Gyldendal in connection with the development of and access to free teaching materials, and with Center For Undervisningsmidler (CFU) to allow easy-access to materials and equipment all over Denmark.
I am chair of the working group for education and outreach in the STEP mission (STars and ExoPlanets; https://space.au.dk/the-space-research-hub/step), which is a near-future Danish satellite that will observe ultraviolet light from the stars.
