Hanna Tuomisto, a new professor in Biology with a DNFR Chair grant from the Danish National Research Foundation.

With a grant of 10 million from the Danish National Research Foundation, the Finnish professor and plant biologist will be affiliated with the Department of Biology in the future.

Hanna Tuomisto conducts research in ecology and biogeography, and has carried out extensive fieldwork, particularly in the Amazon. The project funded by the Danish National Research Foundation aims, among other things, to develop monitoring methods that can identify plant species in the field or in the herbarium.

The purpose of the DNRF Chair is to support Danish universities in attracting and recruiting outstanding researchers from abroad.
