Inauguration of Center for Ice-Free Arctic Research (CIFAR)
CIFAR is a new Danish National Research Foundation Center of Excellence at Aarhus University.

CIFAR would like to thank Danish National Research Foundation for a smooth and professional procedure during the contract period and look forward to the collaboration over the next 6+ years.
We would also like to thank all colleagues in the Arctic center for collaboration during the last 15 years. Working together across disciplines have been efficient in all ways e.g. ton of publications, lots of external grants, exiting field campaigns and good friendships.
Søren thanked Aarhus University for providing him with a fantastic opportunity joining the university in 2010 and believing in the Arctic Science Partnership (ASP) collaboration and for their support of ARC.
Special thanks go to Arctic Command, Sirius and Nanok for corporation and good neighborship in NE Greenland for 30 years. Always been possible to find a joint solution.
Søren also acknowledge AVJF for their financial support for research and infrastructure in Greenland over the years. Without this support it would not have been possible to initiate the CIFAR program.
The relationship between Greenland and Denmark have never been more relevant as in these days and we sincerely hope friendship and curiosity driven science and student engagement on both sides can stregthen our relationship in the years ahead.
