On this occasion, employees at the Department of Biology were invited to an introduction and morning coffee in the lunchroom.

The Center for Ice-free Arctic Research (CIFAR) aims to investigate the consequences of melting ice and increased freshwater influx in the Arctic. The center focuses on how these changes affect the ocean's physical and chemical properties, marine ecosystems, and regional ocean currents. By combining field data, satellite observations, and models, CIFAR seeks to provide a comprehensive overview of future changes in the Arctic Ocean and their impact on the climate.
