The Oxygen symposium will be held at Sandbjerg Manor House a few kilometers north of city Sønderborg in the southeast of Jutland (Denmark). Charming Sandbjerg Manor House dates from 1571, but today's house was built in 1788 and was given to Aarhus University by Karen Blixen’s sister in 1959 for teaching and research. It is a truly picturesque place with a genuine atmosphere of a vanished past. What better location for a birthday celebration?
Travel information
Sandbjerg estate can be reached by flights from Copenhagen (Alsie Express have cheap and reliable flights between Kastrup airport and Sønderborg: https://alsieexpress.dk/en/) and there are hourly trains from Copenhagen to Sønderborg (a four hour journey!) where we will arrange for cars to pick you up from the train stations. It is also possible to fly to Billund (in the middle of Jutland). From here you can take trains from Vejle to Sønderborg. Please let us know whether you need any additional information.
